St. Joseph’s v Hameed Al Husseinie
The 2nd semi-final saw a much more intense affair as it needed a late goal from Hameed Al Husseinie College to defeat St. Joseph’s College.
Hameedians had most of the possession and created chances but were poor in execution. St. Joseph’s on the other hand relied on a compact defense and counterattacks. It was substitute M.F. Abdullah’s goal, after a good build-up play, in the 81st minute, eased the nerves of the Hameedians.
However, with the Josephians pushing men forward Abdullah had two great one-on-one chances against the goalkeeper S. Krishna but he was able to save them both. Krishna had a good day between the posts for the Darley Road boys making a few saves.
