Spearheading this milestone celebration is Saabir Cader, a former captain of the Zahira College Rugby 7s team, who has been appointed as the Director for the Centenary Year.
Saabir Cader is a renowned figure known for his groundbreaking contributions to Sri Lanka Rugby in the digital sphere. His influence extends beyond national borders, as he has covered prominent global events such as the Commonwealth Games in Australia, the Youth Olympic Games in Argentina, and the Asia Rugby Sevens in Malaysia, Hong Kong, and Thailand. Additionally, Cader has lent his expertise to the Netball World Cup in the UK, showcasing his versatility in sports media.
Having previously worked as a commercial and media consultant for Asia Rugby, Saabir Cader currently holds the position of Sport Development Officer at Birmingham City University (UK). His multifaceted experience and dedication make him an ideal leader to steer Zahira College’s Centenary Year towards success, leaving an indelible mark on the history of Sri Lankan rugby.
