Indian spinners Yuzvendra Chahal and Krishnappa Gowtham have tested positive for the Covid-19 virus in Sri Lanka.

The two players infected with the virus were part of the group of eight players who were isolated following the all-rounder Krunal Pandya testing positive three days ago. 

Pandya tested positive for the virus on 27th July ahead of the 2nd T20I match against Sri Lanka and as a result, eight Indian players along with Chahal and Gowtham were identified as immediate contacts of Pandya and were later isolated.

Chahal and Gowtham, along with Krunal will stay in Colombo while the rest of the Indian squad will fly back to India today (30th July).
