CCC cricket academy U13s demolished Colombo Colts Cricket Academy U13s by 447 runs in their U13 MCA Inter Academy Invitation Cricket tournament match played today at the Malabe Horizon Campus grounds.
The CCC skipper won the toss and opted to bat first. The openers Yesith Kalupahana and Nimuthu Gunawardena had the game of their lives as they slammed two double centuries, blasting the bowling to all parts of the ground, putting on a mammoth 538 without losing a wicket in 30 overs.
Yesith Kalupahana, a student of Lyceum International School, Panadura smashed 287 off just 90 deliveries, in a knock which included 18 sixes and 37 fours. His opening partner Nimuthu Gunawardena, from St. Peter’s College, Colombo, made 226 off 95 balls, hitting 9 sixes and 33 fours.
Chasing 539 was a near impossible task and the Colts lads were dismantled for 91 in 18.2 overs to give CCC academy a massive win.
