Three-time World Champion, four-time Commonwealth Games gold medallist, and current World record holder in the 50-meter backstroke event, Liam Tancock will conduct a five-day swimming camp in Colombo this June.
On accepting the invitation of Ceylon Tours, Tancock will be in Sri Lanka to conduct the Elite Summer Swimming Camp from 23rd– 27th June which will be open to swimmers aged between 10 to 18 years, while special sessions for elite swimmers and coaches will take place in an open category.
Olympian Liam Tancock represented Great Britain for 16 years and is regarded as one of the most experienced and commended swimmers from Britain. He has many accolades to his name, including the CBC South West Sports Personality of the Year and has been inducted into the Loughborough University Hall of Fame. Having retired from professional swimming, Tancock now travels the world hosting and conducting swimming master classes and motivational speeches which promote the key levels of success in swimming.
40 – 60 swimmers and 10 coaches are expected to participate in the camp along with the members of the Sri Lanka Swimming team that took part in the Commonwealth Games this year. The sessions will take place at the British School in Colombo and the Sugathadasa Swimming Pool Complex.
