Glen Tapia, an American professional boxer in the light middleweight class, who was currently in Sri Lanka met Minister of Tourism and Sports Navin Dissanayake at the Ministry recently.
Tapia, who is willing to support Sri Lanka Boxing, assured to train Amateur Boxers from rural areas of Sri Lanka and to provide monetary assistance to build a fully-fledged gymnasium and a Boxing ring for the Sri Lankan Boxes.
Accordingly, the measures will be taken to select suitable amateur boxes to be trained by the World Champion, in the United States of America following the discussions with the Officials of the Sri Lanka Boxing Association.
