Navy Sports Club completed their 6th bonus point win on Tuesday (19) to top the league table and take home the Women’s Inter-Club Division I 50-over Cricket Tournament title for the 2nd consecutive year.
Navy SC vs Army SC (B) at Navy Grounds, Welisara
The defending champions knew they had to secure another bonus point win to assure themselves of the title and did so in style, bowling out Army for just 39 before chasing down the target in 10 overs.
Inclement weather threatened to derail Navy’s efforts, but a 10-wicket win in the 22 overs a side encounter saw the Sailors hold onto their place at the top of the league table, with 30 points.

Air Force SC (A) vs Seenigama CC at Air Force Grounds, Katunayake
Seenigama CC gave title contenders Air Force A a mighty scare in their last game of the tournament, restricting the hosts to 94/8. The game was reduced to a 20 over-a-side affair due to bad weather and Seenigama looked like they could cause an upset at 49/2 in the 12th over, with in form batters Kaveesha Dilhari and Sachini Nisansala at the crease, but the Air Force bowlers, led by Malsha Shehani and skipper Oshadi Ranasinghe led the way for the hosts, drying up the runs and eventually leading their team to a 27-run win.
