Sri Lanka finished the Group Stage of Women’s T20 Asia Cup 2024 with a 100% record, by registering a comfortable win over Thailand in Dambulla on Wednesday (24th July), thus confirming their semifinal spot.
Having won the toss, Thailand opted to bat first, but they had no clue against a well-disciplined bowling effort from Sri Lanka.

The wicket-keeper batter, Nannapat Koncharoenkai, batted through to make a defiant unbeaten 47, but her side was restricted to 93/7 at the end of 20 overs.
The off-spinner, Kavisha Dilhari, was the pick of the bowlers for the hosts as she grabbed 2 wickets for 13 runs in her 4-over spell.
Sri Lanka cruised to the target quite convincingly as they crossed the line in the 12th over with 10 wickets in hand.

The opening pair, Chamari Athapaththu and Vishmi Gunaratne, shared an unbeaten 94-run stand for the first wicket. Athapaththu made 49 runs off 35 balls with 2 fours and 4 sixes, while Gunaratne hit 39 runs off 34 balls with 4 fours and a six.
Group B winner Sri Lanka will play Group A runner-up Pakistan in their Semi-Final encounter on July 26th at the same venue.
