The Windies will take part in a one-day international tri-series in Ireland, also involving Bangladesh, to be played in Clontarf and Malahide in May.
The two teams last met at the ICC Men’s World Cup Qualifier 2018 in Zimbabwe, when Ireland went down by 52 runs. At the end of the tournament, the Windies joined Afghanistan as the teams to get tickets to the marquee event in England and Wales in 2019, while Ireland missed out.
The Windies have now been confirmed as the fifth team to tour Ireland in 2019, in an international men’s schedule of 16 fixtures to be played in Malahide, Clontarf, Bready and Stormont. The other teams that will travel to Ireland in 2019 are England, Afghanistan and Zimbabwe.

“While 2018 was a breakthrough year in many ways for Irish cricket, 2019 is set to be another momentous year for our sport,” said Warren Deutrom, Chief Executive of Cricket Ireland.
“Next season, we will host five Full Member nations – with a number of the teams having not played here for many years. Zimbabwe’s last match in Ireland, for instance, was in 2003, while a senior West Indies side hasn’t been seen in on-field action in Ireland since 2007.”
In 2019, Ireland will also play their first overseas Test match, against Afghanistan in India, in March, and will also take part in a Test match at Lord’s against England in July.
