While the top teams from last year’s schools rugby arena will compete in Division ‘A’, another determined group of schools would face-off in the Division ‘B’ segment of the Schools rugby League this year.

Zahira College and Maliyadeva College, demoted last year, will look to make their way back to the top tier after a mediocre performance last year. With the fixtures for the tournament officially revealed, Lumbini College and D.S Senanayake College are likely to provide tough competition this year, as they go head to head in the ‘Division ‘B’ segment starting next month.
The league will consist of 12 schools divided into 2 groups and ranked according to their standings from last year.

At the end of the first round, the top two teams from each group will contest for the Plate championship along with the last two teams from the Division ‘A’ groups. Each team will play each other, while the top four teams will be promoted to the Division ‘A’ for next year’s contest.
The bottom four teams from Division ‘B’ will join the top performers from the Division ‘C’ to compete for the Bowl Championship.
The match dates and venues are yet to be confirmed by the respective authorities.
