Wellington Masakadza recalled for Sri Lanka series

Left-arm spinner Wellington Masakadza has been recalled to the Zimbabwe squads for the upcoming One-Day International squad and is in line to make his Test debut against Sri Lanka.

Masakadza, who last played an ODI in December 2015 against Afghanistan, and featured in an international game in March 2016, is the only inclusion in the ODI side that played against Netherlands and Scotland.

In 10 ODIs and seven T20Is, the 23-year-old Wellington has bagged 15 and 8 wickets respectively. However, he is yet to play a Test.

In the Test side, Regis Chakabva, Carl Mumba and Nathan Waller have come in for Solomon Mire, Richard Ngarava and Chamu Chibhabha. The uncapped allrounder, Waller, was a part of Zimbabwe’s squad during the Afghanistan series, but did not get a game.

On their first tour to Sri Lanka, Zimbabwe will play a one-off Test and five one-dayers. While the ODIs will begin on June 30, the Test is scheduled to being onJuly 14.
