Sri Lanka ended their 2-game Friendly series in dismal fashion against Myanmar, playing out a 0-0 draw against the hosts in the second game at the Thuwunna Stadium, Yangon, Myanmar.
The visitors made three changes following their defeat in the first game, as Anujan Rajendram, Sacayaradjy Steven, and Faizer Aman came into the starting XI in place of Harsha Fernando, Chalana Chameera, and Wade Dekker.
Sri Lanka got off to a good start this time around, with opportunities aplenty in the first 10 minutes. However, the visitors were wasteful in front of goal, letting all chances go astray as the home side managed to regain onus and momentum.
The hosts came close several times in the first half, but Sri Lanka’s much-improved defense, led by captain Sujan Perera, stood firm, taking the game into halftime at 0-0.
The second half began similarly, with the visitors failing to capitalize on their chances as Myanmar held on by the skin of their teeth, keeping the game evenly balanced going into the final half-hour.
