Sri Lankan leg spinning all-rounder Wanindu Hasaranga has tested positive for Covid-19 after a routine RAT test.
Hasaranga is the third Sri Lankan player infected with the virus during the tour after Kusal Mendis and Binura Fernando tested positive for Covid-19 earlier.
As a result, Hasaranga will miss today’s third T20I against Australia with leg-spinner Jeffrey Vandersay likely to replace him in the playing XI.
- Smith out of remaining T20Is against Sri Lanka with concussion
- Mendis available for selection in 3rd T20I; Binura to miss next two games
No word on his participation for the rest of the series has been given yet, but with the existing protocols, it is likely he will miss the rest of the series.
Third T20I between Sri Lanka and Australia will take place today at Canberra from 1.40 PM Sri Lanka Time onwards.
