United takes over Kapila sports club after four furious quarters of Volleyball at the finals of President Gold cup in the Maharagama Youth Indoor stadium.
The women’s finals were a very tight battle. Though women’s volleyball had never been entertaining in the sense of speed and action as men’s this game changed the way you enjoy the game. All the rounds were pretty tight and every mistake you made did count to the final score.
The first quarter was a near miss for the Kapila sports club. With a 23 – 25 as the final score they nearly missed the game; or rather they were not efficient enough. A single mistakes serve should have changed the game. As a matter of fact United Sports club was struggling before the first technical time-out. With the change of plans United’s were very tactful. They realized many of the projections by Kapila sports were reaching out of the lines and opted to leave instead of blocking. At a time from 12-12 United sports club rose to for a massive lead. By the time a recovery was formed from Kapila sports club Uniteds had already secured their win in the first round.
Kapila sports club was having major drawback since the first quarter. With substitution of player number 11 taking place in team United and they were off the score at an impressive rate. Coming off with many mistakes after the first 10 minutes of the game, Kapila’s were at a major disadvantage. Kapila sports club was looking at a substitution of players 15 and 9 but it was too late a reaction to an already losing quarter. The second quarter wrapped off at a 15 – 25 with Kapila sports club falling behind by 10 points.
While disappointed supporters were looking at a loss for club Kapila, they made a huge recovery in the third quarter. Handling the stress very well, Kapila was on fire. United sports club was struggling to score the first 10 points while Kapila’s were already close to 20s. Though the lead did not carry on the much obvious victory of the third quarter was to Kapila club. Considering the position in which they were in, this precious quarter finally brought the club some faith in the trophy.
The sudden recovery did not live long. Making 4th quarter the final, United club was able to settle the final quarter with a lead of 16 points. Without much anticipation the game reached the end with United sports club celebration their ‘national victory’.
