After three months of wet and damp cricket in the SLSCA under 19 division 1 tournament 2014/15, the fortunes has changed with the recommencement of the season in the new year.
St. Joseph’s College vs St. Sebastian’s College
Right-arm seamer Kusal Lakthilina captured a 5-wicket haul as the Sebs took control at stumps on day 1 at Moratuwa.
Josephians batting first were toiled hard for runs as the visitors made only 223 all out. 15-year old all-rounder Jehan Daniel top scored with 80 runs while Kevin Corteling chipped in with 51. Kusal was the pick of the bowlers taking 5 for 45. Sebastanites in their reply were 101 for 3 in 36 overs. Opener Praveen Perera remained unbeaten on 49.

Trinity College vs Dharmapala College
Trinity took the upper hand in their match against Dharmapala College, Pannipitiya at the end of day 1 at Kadirana.
The hosts playing a bit far home, Dharmapala outfit were bowled out for only 94. Left-arm spinner Duvindu Thillakarathne took 3 wickets while skipper Raveen Sayer took 2 wickets. Trinity in their 1st innings was also bowled out within the day as they managed only 186. Left-hander Arjuna Jayasinghe was the lone warrior scoring 97 runs. Ashen Abeykoon and Pasindu Keshan took 3 wickets apiece.

The match was in the balance after the play was stopped on day 1 at Katunayake as both teams shared the honours.
St. Peter’s batting first made 209 runs with Didulana Medis scoring 75 runs and right-hander Sachin Dalpathadu making 47 runs. Ananda College scored 88 runs for the loss of 4 wickets at stumps.

Thurstan College vs Richmond College
Skipper Thimira Jayasinghe stroked a fighting half-century as Thurstan took the first innings lead over the strong Richmond College team at the end of day 1 in Surrey Village grounds at Maggona.
Richmond was shut down for 149 by a disciplined Thurstan bowling attack with left-arm spinner Senal Wijesinghe taking 3 wickets. Saveen Nanayakkara made 37 for the team from Galle. Thurstan in their reply were 188/9 in 59 overs. Thimira scored 56 runs while Kasun Abeyrathne made 33.

Only 73 overs were possible on day 1 at Kotahena as the visitors made 203 in their 1st innings.
Hard-hitting Sachitha Jayathilake stroked an unbeaten 44 to guide Thomians over the 200-run mark after the hosts bowling pair of Geethal Fernando and Geethika Jayathilake shared 7 wickets to torment the visitors. The hosts batted only 9 overs losing 2 wickets for 34 runs.
