Vidyartha College, Kandy registered a thumping win over St. John’ College, Panadura in a Quarter Final encounter to secure their place in the Semi Finals of the SLSCA Under 19 Division 2 Tier A Inter-Schools Two Day Tournament 2024/25.
Having won the toss, St. John’s College opted to bat first but their innings was restricted for just 131 runs as Danupa Kodikara (4/16), Chenul Hansaja (3/25) and Shevan Moses (2/40) ripped through their batting lineup sharing 9 wickets between them.

Vidyartha College came up with a strong reply with the bat, putting on 375 runs for their first innings courtesy of brilliant century by Shevan Moses. He struck 110 runs off 57 balls with 11 fours and 7 sixes at a strike rate of 192.98.

The boys from Panadura managed to improve their batting effort in the second innings, putting on 225 runs on the board, but it wasn’t enough to salvage from an innings defeat. Hirusha Pieris hit a fighting knock of 85 runs off 143 balls with 14 fours in a losing cause.
