Former Sri Lanka U19 cap Kevin Koththigoda has signed a deal with Bangla Tigers for the Abu Dhabi T10 league which is scheduled to begin next month.
The 21-year old mystery spinner who bowls with an unusually unorthodox action emulating the former South African Paul Adams, is yet to make his international debut and has played just a handful of domestic matches for Galle CC last season.
Currently, he’s representing BRC in the SLC U23 Two-Day Tournament and MAS Unichela team in the 27th Singer-MCA Premier League.
“It’s an amazing opportunity for me to play this high-intensity tournament. I was very fortunate to have got this chance. Looking forward to it. “ Koththigoda exclusively told ThePapare.com.
Koththigoda, who represented Sri Lanka U19 in 2017, played school cricket for Mahinda College and has often found himself amongst the headlines locally as well as internationally for his unique style of bowling.
He’ll play alongside fellow Sri Lankans Thisara Perera and Shehan Jayasuriya who are already in the Bangla Tigers lineup. With the addition of Koththigoda, a total number of 11 Sri Lankans will be playing for various teams in the 3rd edition of the T10 league.
