After powering their through the quarter final and semi-final Isipathana College meets an improved Royal College team who made their way to the final following a nail biting semi-final. The final will be played on JULY 13th 2014 4.30pm at Royal College Sports Complex.
Isipathana College destroyed Thurstan (55-05) in the first quarter final while Science College managed to beat much fancied St. Peter’s College (24-22) in the second quarter final to set up a semi-final meeting with Isipathana College.
Royal College came back strongly to beat St. Joseph’s college (32-19) in a spectacular second half comeback. Trinity College cruised to the semi final with ease after out classing defending champions Wesley College (45-07) in the last quarter final to set up a semi-final meeting against Royal College.
In the first semi-final Isipathana College overcame a hearty Science college performance (39-17) to secure their place in the final of the Milo Knock-out trophy while in the second semi-final Royal College came back strongly in the dying stages of the game to beat Trinity College (30-29) in their third attempt of this current season. A last gasp try from Royal Eight-man Nikhil Gunadeera helped them edge past Trinity College in a thrilling encounter and advance to the final against Isipathana College which will be played at Royal College Sports Complex on July 13 at 4.30pm.
