St. Joseph’s College vs Wesley College
Wesley College won the toss and opted to bat first against St. Joseph’s College in the 1st Quarter-Final of SLSCA U19 Division 1 – Tier A Cricket Tournament 2021/2022 played today at Thurstan Grounds.
Due to the adverse weather conditions, the match was reduced to a 47-over affair. The strong Josephian bowling lineup managed to restrict Wesley College to 167 runs where Sri Lanka capped duo Dunith Wellalage and Shevon Daniel picked up 4 wickets each for Joes.
St. Joseph’s College cruised to the victory quite comfortably losing only 4 wickets as Shevon Daniel stroked a match-winning 85 runs off 75 balls with 6 fours and 5 sixes.

Thurstan College vs Lumbini College
Lumbini College won the toss and opted to bowl first against Thurstan College in the 4th Quarter-Final of SLSCA U19 Division 1 – Tier B Cricket Tournament 2021/2022 played today at Nalanda Grounds.
Thurstan College managed to put on 228 runs on the board thanks to the half-centuries made by Thenuka Dewapriya (59) and Upul Hettiarachchi (50). Sahan Kaushalya was the pick of the bowlers for Lumbini College as he snared 4 wickets for 25 runs.
Lumbini College were on 158/5 needing 71 runs in the last 10 overs when the bad light stopped play at a crucial moment of the match. As per the Duckworth–Lewis method, Lumbini College needed to be at 169 runs after 40 overs thus Thurstan College awarded the win by 10 runs.

Mahanama College won the toss and opted to bowl first against St. Benedict’s College in the 4th Quarter-Final of SLSCA U19 Division 1 – Tier A Cricket Tournament 2021/2022 played today at Ananda Grounds.
St. Benedict’s batters had a terrible time with the bat as they were shot out for just 94 runs in 38.5 overs. Koojana Perera of Mahanama College was the chief destroyer with the ball as he bagged 5 wickets for 18 runs.
It was a walk-in-the-park victory for Mahanama College as they chased down the target with 7 wickets in hand. Koojana Perera who starred with the ball earlier in the day showed his batting skills top-scoring with an unbeaten 47 runs off 75 balls with 5 fours.
