Sri Devananda College registered a thrilling win over Dharmasoka College to clinch the 53rd Battle of the Blues which ended today (24th April) at UC Grounds, Ambalangoda.
After being 285/7 at stumps on day one, Sri Devananda College was bowled out for 314 runs with a first-innings lead of 110 runs. Kanchana De Livera (98), Kaveesha Kalpana (64) and Lasindu Lakshan (55) were the chief contributors with the bat for Sri Devananda College.
Dharmasoka College began their second innings 110 runs behind and once again failed with the bat as they made only 207 runs setting an easy target (98 runs) for Sri Devananda College.

Kaveesha Kalpana (3/27) and Wanith De Silva (3/69) starred with the ball sharing 6 wickets between them. Though the target of 98 runs seems easy on paper, Sri Devananda College had to work hard for the runs as they lost 7 wickets in the run chase. At 85/7, the crowd interrupted the play, therefore the match was awarded to Sri Devananda College.
