Two traditional encounters of the SLSCA U19 Division 1 Cricket Tournament got underway today (18th April), at Kandy & Colombo.
St. Aloysius’ College took the upper hand on day one against D.S. Senanayake College in the traditional encounter which commenced today at D.S. Senanayake College Grounds.
After restricting D.S. Senanayake College to 163 runs, St. Aloysius’ College posted 182/5 for their first innings. Adithya Abeyawardana of St. Aloysius’ College was the star performer of the day as he bagged 4 wickets for 32 runs.
In the other traditional encounter between Trinity College and Ananda College, the former managed to take honors on day one.
Ananda College were struggling with the bat at 85/8 in reply to Trinity College’s 230 runs for their first innings. Supun Waduge (61) and Akram Muthalib (52) lit up the day with useful half-centuries for Trinity College.
