Trinity College took on Wesley College in the U19 Division I Two Day tournament in Asgiriya Grounds, Kandy while a couple of traditional games were held today (9) as St. Benedict’s College vs St. Servatius’ College in Katunayake and De Mazenod College vs Maris Stella College in Negombo.

Trinity College won the 1st innings against Wesley College by positing 193 & bowled them out for 172 runs.
In 2nd innings, Trinitians decided to declare on 161/6. But surprisingly, none of their batters crossed the 30-run mark.
Chasing 183 to win, Wesley College was able to get only 36 for losing 4 wickets as the match ended in a draw.

Sharujan Shanmuganathan scored a magnificent 160 as St. Benedicts College declared on 328/9 for their 1st innings while Chiran Neththaru got five.
St. Servatius batters responded well as they fell 3 runs short of the opponents’ 1st innings score with Diniru Abeywickramasinghe scoring a hundred.
When the match ended in a draw, St. Benedicts’ openers raced to 85/0 in 11 overs.
After deciding to bat first, De Mazenod College made 188 runs for their 1st innings. Unfortunately, Uvindu Perera missed a well-deserved hundred as he departed for 93 runs while Shean Adithya bagged six wickets as well.
Skipper Kaveen Fernando scored a brilliant hundred as Maris Stella College were on 190/4 at the end of day one.
