Six 2-day encounters of the U19 Inter-Schools Cricket Tournament were played today (21st December) at several venues across the island.
- Thomas’ College managed to take first innings honors in the drawn Tier ‘A’ two-day encounter against Maliyadeva College ended today at Mount Lavinia. After being 115/5 at stumps on day one, the hosts managed to go past the visitors’ first innings score by posting 203/9 in 67 overs before declaring the innings.
Thisen Eheliyagoda top scored for S. Thomas’ College with a crucial 45 runs. Maliyadeva College began their 2nd innings 81 runs behind and posted 123/5 at the close of play on day two.
St. Benedict’s College managed to bowl out strong outfit St. Joseph’s College to just 168 runs on day one of their Tier ‘A’ encounter commenced today at St. Benedict’s College Grounds in Colombo. Mevan Dissanayake (3/60) and Chamath Chathurya (2/51) starred in the hosts’ brilliant bowling effort.

Hasindu Perera’s excellent bowling performance helped Maris Stella College restrict Ananda College to 172 runs on day one of their Tier ‘B’ encounter began today at Maris Stella College Grounds in Negombo.
Yuneth Senevirathne of Isipathana College and Anjala Bandara of Mahanama College stole the limelight scoring eye-catching centuries for their respective sides today. Isipathana College and Mahanama College managed to take the upper hand on day one with solid first innings totals thanks to these two-century makers.
