Koththigoda and De Silva superb spells dismantle D.S

U19 Inter-Schools Cricket Tournament 2022/23

Three traditional encounters of the U19 Inter-Schools Division 1 Two-Day Tournament commenced today (02nd March) at several venues across the island.

Richmond College dominated their traditional encounter against D.S. Senanayake College on day one at SLAOC International Cricket Stadium, Dombagoda.

Yuri Koththigoda and Maheesha De Silva dismantled the D.S batting lineup taking 5 wickets each with the ball. In reply to D.S first innings total of 57, Richmond College showcased a much better batting display, posting 197/7 at the close of play on day one.

Mahanama College managed to take the upper hand on day one against Kingswood College in their traditional encounter that commenced today at CCC Grounds, Colombo.

Having won the toss, Kingswood College opted to bat first but they were restricted to just 79 runs thanks to a brilliant spell by Venuk Hettiarachchi (5/19).

In reply, Mahanama College showcased a dominant batting display posting 393/3 at the close of play on day one. Koojana Perera put Kingswood bowers to the sword with a magnificent century. He stroked 165 runs off 103 balls with 15 fours and 10 sixes at a strike rate of 160.19.
