Maliyadeva College managed to take major honors against Richmond College in their traditional fixture was worked off today at Sooriyawewa. Right arm seamer Vidath Batepola who picked up 4 wickets for 37 runs helped the Devans restrict the Richmondites to 295 runs in their first innings.

With a 45-run lead, Maliyadeva College began their second innings and posted 144 runs for 2 wickets at stumps on day two. Supun Sumanarathne starred with the bat, scoring 87 runs for the Kurunegala boys. Muditha Premadasa who made a brilliant 150 in the first innings stroked another 32 runs taking his match tally to 185 runs.
