Lumbini College Colombo played host to D.S. Senanayake College, Colombo today, 1st of January, in a tournament fixture of the Singer U19 Division One Cricket Tournament at BRC grounds, Colombo.
After winning the toss, Lumbini College opted to put runs on board first, in which they failed terribly and were bowled out for 74 runs. Off spinner Chamath Yatawara and left-armer Methushan Kumara bowled brilliantly in tandem as the pair shared 9 wickets between them.
In reply, the visitors were undone for 164 runs. Sandaru Wickramarathne produced 44 runs with the bat to be the lone performer from D.S. Senanayake College. Lumbini vice-captain Prabath Madushanka topped the bowling chart as he picked up 5 wickets for 36 runs.

The reply with the bat was not as good from Lumbini College as they managed only 142 runs in the second-innings. It has been the case with Lumbini throughout this season. The batting has let them down badly. The new-comer to the Sri Lanka U19 setup, Muditha Lakshan, took hold of the bowling with his left-arm spin as he picked up 6 wickets for 32 runs.
D.S. Senanayake required 53 runs to win which they chased down with 8 wickets intact to hand Lumbini the third consecutive defeat.
