Ananda College, Colombo Vs Trinity College, Kandy

The Group D fixture between Ananda College Vs Trinity College commenced at Asgiriya International Cricket ground today. Despite the younger of the Senadeera twins, Kavishka’s excellent performance (5 for 89), the visitors put up a good show with the bat as they managed a decent 230 on the board to challenge the Trinity batting line-up. Wicket keeper batsman and captain Kamesh Nirmal top scored for Ananda College with a fighting knock of 78.

Chasing Ananda’s total, Trinity College got on to a rapid start, but collapsed spectacularly to a disappointing 112/7 as Pubudu Bandara lost batting partners before he too was dismissed on 49, missing a well-deserved half century.

Off spinner Savindu Bandara and Nadeesha Karunarathne shared 5 wickets between them and will try to dismiss the opposition as quick as possible, come the next morning.
