Trinity College, Kandy met Richmond College, Galle in the U19 Division I schools cricket tournament tier ‘A’ finals today (8th April) at the SSC grounds for day 1.
On a green surface with overcast conditions overloonking SSC Richmond College skipper Malsha Tharupathi elected to field first, Trinity College made a strong start to their inning thanks to both of the openers Vidhuka Dhammage and Dimantha Mahavithana, the pair went on to put on a half-century stand for the 1st wicket.
Dimantha Mahavithana went on to score an impressive half-century and Sri Lanka national youth cap Supun Waduge added 40 valuable runs for Trinity College. Despite the strong start, no other batter made a significant impact as Trinity was bundled out for 203 runs in their innings.

Sharon Abishek once again starred with the ball for Richmond College with 4 wickets continuing his impressive form with the ball throughout the season, Sihath Ramanayake and Kaveesha Induwara also picked up 3 and 2 wickets respectively to make things worse for Trinity College.
