4 matches in the U19 Division I Schools Tournament ended today with Moratu Maha Vidyalaya, St. Anthony’s College, Wattala and Isipathana College recording outright wins.
The standout moment of the day undoubtedly belonged to Deham Nirmal, who scored a scintillating double hundred against St. Joseph’s College, Colombo at Darley Road. Nirmal’s breathtaking innings took only 225 balls, although the Donz spread their authority with the bat the Josephians struggled right throughout both of their innings.

The bowling attack led by Isuru Fernando of Moratu Maha Vidyalaya, Moratuwa proved to be too good for Dharmapala College, Panniptitiya batters as the visitors marched on to win the game by an innings and 13 runs.
Star-studded Mahinda College, Galle fell well short of Isipathana College, Colombo as the Pathanians dismantled the Mahindians for just 55 runs in their 2nd innings resulting in a convincing win for Isipathana by 131 runs. Skipper Sithuka Gunawardene and Tharushka Ashel grabbed 5 wickets each in the 2nd innings.
