Two games in the U19 Schools Cricket circuit ended today with Dharmaraja College, Kandy recording an outright win over St. Sebastian’s College, Katuneriya in Kandy.
In the U19 Division I ‘Tier B’ Tournament encounter played in Kandy, hosts Dharmaraja , batting first, posted a commanding total of 311 runs. Arosha Mahagedara top-scored with 72 while national cap Pulindu Perera and Onija Sesath contributed with half-centuries. A collective bowling effort from the Rajans restricted the Sebastianites to 149 and 178 despite Hasith Kavinda’s 82 in the 2nd innings.

In Katunayake, Richmond College, Galle, met St. Servatius’ College, Matara, in a traditional encounter. Richmond, batting first, was bundled out for 170 by the Servatians, with Praveen Madusanka being the standout bowler with a 5-wicket haul.
St. Servatius’ College ended their 1st innings at 220 which gave them the 1st innings lead. Experienced spinner Sharon Abishek’s 5 wickets was the only highlight of the inning. Richmond College was 8 wickets down, having scored 190 runs at stumps on Day 2.
