Colombo North and Kandy secured dominant wins on Day 4 to remain on top of the points table of the U17 Sri Lanka Youth League 2023, which took place today (25th) in Colombo.

Colombo North continued their unbeaten winning streak, extending to 3 in 3 to beat Galle by 7 wickets at Moors Sports Club Grounds in Colombo. After winning the toss, Colombo North decided to bowl first against Galle.

Team Galle was completely undone by the Colombo North bowlers as they lost their first 9 wickets for only 67 runs. Somehow, they managed to post 116, thanks to a 49-run stand between Vishwa Supun & Kanishka Rasanga.

The duo were the only batters to get past double figures. Rasanga made 18, while Supun scored a fighting 60 runs unbeaten. Dulnith Sigera and Kavisha Mendis were the best of the bowling front, scalping three wickets apiece.

Chasing an easy target of 117, Colombo North got there after losing just 3 wickets in 26.5 overs. Denura Demansith was their highest run scorer, making 44 off 50. Raheed Kareem (24*) and Samindu Maduranga (16*) remained not out to take their side home.

Kandy sealed their third win when they beat Dambulla by 5 wickets at Bloomfield Grounds in Colombo. Team Dambulla won the toss and opted to bat first.

The opening batter Buddhima Sahan scored 17, but apart from him, their top order and middle order were absolutely dismantled by Jayavi Liyanagama and Senura Gihan, picking up 7 wickets for 27 runs including 4 ducks.
