Colombo North and Galle registered wins in the third day of the Under 17 Sri Lanka Youth League played yesterday (25th August) at RDICS, Dambulla and Welagedara Stadium, Kurunegala respectively.
Colombo North registered their 2nd win in the tournament today as they defeated Colombo South by 6 wickets. Tharusha Kodikara (5/29) and Garuka Sanketh (3/37) ripped through the Colombo South batting lineup sharing 8 wickets between them.
Colombo North managed to chase down the target of 80 runs quite easily as they got over the line in the 16th over with 6 wickets in hand.
Galle recorded their first win of the tournament today as they defeated Dambulla by 92 runs. Half-centuries from Dinura Kalupahana (61) and Bhashana de Silva (54) helped Galle put on a competitive total of 241 runs on the board.
Vishwa Rajapaksha’s fighting 42-run knock went in vain as Dambulla only managed to post 149 runs in 37 overs. S. Karileshwaran (2/28), Dinura Kalupahana (2/28) and Sanju Dilshan (2/38) starred with the ball for Galle.
