St. Benedicts College, Colombo vs Kaluthara Vidyalaya, Kaluthara
Another second round match played between the home team St. Benedicts vs Kaluthara Vidyalaya got underway today in the Singer Schools Division 01 group ‘R’. The hoys from Kaluthara after winning the toss invited the host team to bat first. The Benedictines put on 190 runs for the loss of 9 wickets and declared their first innings after 69.4 overs. Ashan De Soyza scored 33 runs while Banula Perera and Adeesha Randika scored 28 runs not out and 26 runs respectively. Shaveen Anuka grabbed 3 wickets for 42 runs and Sadeep Kavishka took 2 wickets for 18 runs.

Batting their first inning the boys from down south managed to score 117 runs for the loss of only 3 wickets in 39 overs when the match officials stopped play for the day. Chamodya Isuranga scored 36 runs and Sadeep Kavishka scored 31 runs which were the highlight of the inning. Sachin Senanayaka chipped in with 2 wickets for 19 runs.
The match ended in a draw.

Mahanama College, Colombo vs St. Johns College, Nugegoda
The Mahanama College Juniors puts up a huge total on board for their first inning when they played against St. Johns College, Nugegoda in the Singer Schools Division 01 group ‘Q’ match.
After winning the toss Mahanama opted to bat first and scored 246 runs for the loss of 8 wickets in 59.1 overs and declared their first inning. Two half centuries from the Mahanama Juniors through Sachira Weliwatte who scored 61 runs and Pasindu Nawodya who made 51 runs. Manusha Anuradha and Gavin Jayawardana played a helping hand and scored 30 runs and 27 runs respectively. A single handed performance by Dewmith Hettiarachchi grabbed 6 wickets out of 8 for 59 runs.

Coming into bat for their first inning the Johnians managed to score only 95 runs before they were bowled out in 36 overs. Seneth Ashmika was the highest among the batsmen making 34 runs. Devindu Kakirideniya demolished the batting line up grabbing 6 wickets for 20 runs while Sachira Weliwatte took 3 wickets for just 10 runs.
Batting their second inning Mahanama College scored 80 runs for the loss of 4 wickets in 12 overs at the end of the day’s play. Banula Agalawatta scored 32 runs and Dilshan Guwanjith took 2 wickets for 7 runs.
The match ended up in a draw.
