The thirteenth hockey encounter between S. Thomas’ College Mount Lavinia and Trinity College Kandy will take place this Saturday the 17th of October at the Asgiriya Stadium at 3.30 p.m.
The annual hockey encounter between Trinity College and S. Thomas’ College Mount Lavinia came into existence in the year 1950 and since then the fixture has been a regular in the calendar. The silverware for the encounter was first introduced in the year 2003 in memory of the former warden of S. Thomas’ College Dr. Neville de Alwis.
Trinity College had the privilege of winning last year’s encounter that was played at the Police Park grounds winning the match 1-0. The Old Boys game between the alumni of the two schools started off in the year 2013 and will take for the second occasion at 1.30 p.m. In addition to the under 19 game, an under 15 game is introduced for the first time and will be played prior to the main game.
