Trinity College 1st XV skipper Rahul Karunathilake will be missing the 1st leg of the 72nd Bradby Shield encounter after the inquiry held this afternoon found him guilty of the infringement.

The Sri Lanka Schools Rugby Football Association convened at Lumbini College today for the inquiry and after carefully examining the video footage of the match, a one match ban was imposed on the Trinity skipper. This is a result of two consecutive yellow cards that Rahul Karunathilake received during the game against S. Thomas’ last weekend.

With the match ban imposed on the Trinity College captain, the Lions will go into the 72nd Bradby Shield encounter sans their senior man as they attempt to win back the shield. Rahul, a fourth year coloursman was the team’s commanding officer and in his absence, deputy Thushila Perera is expected to play the role as captain.
