The Old Trinitians Rugby Scrummage (OTRS), the governing body for rugby at Trinity College ceremonially launched their rugby program this evening(21st) applauding their sponsors.
Trinity College, one of the oldest schools to play the sport, boasts of a rich history of over 110 years in rugby. The game is a passion of Trinity College that is nearing its 150th celebration.
Addressing those present at the press briefing, Principal of Trinity College added that he is excited to be part of this amazing journey.
“I want all our boys to have the best time and enjoy the sport. Trinity should be the only institution that has had such a long time in association with the sport and I hope this continues” added Andrew Fowler-Watt.
Trinity College will be empowered by Singer Sri Lanka and addressing the occasion, the Marketing Director for Singer, Kumar Samarasinghe added that he hopes to continue the strong association with both Trinity rugby and the Bradby Shield.
“Trinity has been playing rugby for over 100 years and we are proud to have been a part of 30 years of it.
More than the financial benefit, I believe that this has benefited us much more throughout these 30 years”
Trinity Rugby’s Principal Sponsor for 2019 will be Kandurata while Exotic Cars will be the co-sponsor.
Trinity College is currently placed 3rd in the Division IIA segment in the Singer Schools Rugby League.
