With weeks left to go for the much anticipated Singer Schools Rugby League 2019, Trinity College’s newly appointed head coach Matt Lee has parted ways with Trinity College rugby.
The New Zealand national was contracted by Trinity College in the pre-season following Trinity’s tour to New Zealand. The former Wellington Club representative joined the coaching staff as head coach and his resignation comes at a very crucial point in the build up to the schools rugby league which will commence at the end of February.

The former Wellington Rugby Union coach came in after Trinity’s disastrous season in 2018 which saw them finishing 6th in the league.

ThePapare understands that the interests of Matt Lee and Trinity College rugby were not on the same page and that resulted in the parting of ways.
Meanwhile, director of rugby at Trinity, Inthi Marikar is set to take reins as head coach with the Singer Schools Rugby League 2019 set to kick off on the 28th of February 2019.
Marikar earlier took reins as interim coach in 2018 when Lote Raikabula was relieved of his services mid-season.
