Trinity College dismissed Nalanda College from the Singer U19 two-day Tournament quarter-finals concluded short while ago at the St. Joseph’s grounds.
After scoring an excellent 267 in the first innings, the Kandy lads took 2 Nalanda wickets for just 21 at the end of the first day. On resumption today two Nalanda lost 2 more wickets quickly reeling at 26 for 4 in the morning.
Nalanda star-batsman Suhanga Wijewardana scored a blistering 72 off 61 balls to bring some respectability to the total, but lacked support at the other end. Nalanda folded at 151 before lunch leaving Trinity with a first innings win and lease to advance into the semi-finals.

Right-arm off spinner Kavishka Senadeera took 4 wickets, while Jeff Weerasinghe and Thisaru Dilshan scored half-tons to steer the lads from hill capital in to a convincing 116-run win.
Trinity will meet the winner of the Ananda-Prince of Wales game to be played over the weekend.
