Trinity College Kandy secured the Under 16 Ten-A-Side Elite Tournament 2023, played at Bogambara and Pallekele last weekend.
The Junior Lions defeated DS Senanayake College in the final, going on to win 5-0 thanks to a try courtesy of Dimath Ambepitiya. He incidentally went on to finish the tournament as the Best Player as well. In the Cup semis, Trinity got the better of Zahira, whilst the Junior Donz beat Vidyartha College.
Science College went on to win the Shield Segment, defeating Lumbini in the final. In contrast, Isipathana won the Bowl Segment, beating Ananda College, and Royal College secured the Plate final, defeating St. Peter’s College.
The tournament was played over 2-days in Kandy, finishing on the 1st of October, which incidentally was also Children’s Day.
The Tournament was organized by the Sri Lanka Schools Rugby Football Association.
