Trinitian Boyagoda ends Ananda’s limited overs journey

Sri Lanka U19 World record holder Hasitha Boyagoda and his partner Thisaru Dilshan knocked Ananda College out of the Singer U19 Limited overs tournament with a convincing 8-wicket win in their Pre-quarter final played today in Asgiriya. 

Trinity skipper Hasitha Boyagoda won the toss and invited the lads from Maradana to take first lease of the Asgiriya surface. Lahiru Hiranya stroked a timely half-ton but he ran out of partners as the visitors were restricted to a modest 190 all out inside 48 overs.

Chasing 191 to win, skipper Boyagoda got on top of the Ananda bowlers as he smashed them to all parts of Asgiriya taking Trinity to 124 in 20 overs with Boyagoda unbeaten on 82. The skipper departed for a remarkable 112, while Pubudu Bandara anchored the lads from Kandy to a convincing 8-wicket win as they entered the Singer U19 limited overs quarter finals.
