Trinity College won the inaugural tournament last year beating the Thomians in the final, under the captaincy of Ranga Ranatunga. They will be led this year by former full back Krishan Kirinde who played for the Lions in 2005/06 & 07 and was interestingly the player of the tournament last year. Former front row forward Nadeeshan Kariyawasam will skipper the Thomians this year having represented the school by the sea in 2004 & 05 while the lads from Reid Avenue will be marshaled by Thilanga Guneratne.
Former Thomian hooker Bumpy Jayasekera will grace the occasion as the Chief Guest. Jayasekera represented S. Thomas’ College in the 60’s with distinction and went on to play for CR&FC and later on for Sri Lanka.
