The inter school cricket encounter between Sri Sumangala College Panadura and Thurstan College Colombo which commenced yesterday was concluded today at Thurstan grounds in a victory to the home side.
The visitors in their first innings could only score 96 runs in 35 overs. Kasun Lakshan and Vishad Randika supported the team by making 21 and 22 runs.
Rajitha Perera was the pick of the bowlers taking 5 for 22 and destroying the Sumangala batting. Raveesha Lokuge aided him taking 2 for 25.
Sumangala in the 2nd innings scored 97 runs in 55.3 overs with a valuable contribution given by Chamika Amarasekara with 40 runs. Minhaj Jaleel was the spearhead in the bowling taking 5 wickets, Raveesha Lokuge and Rajitha Perera joined the party with 2 wickets each.
