Three weightlifters have qualified to represent Sri Lanka at the forthcoming Youth Commonwealth Games, to be held in Samoa this September.
They are Isuru Senadheera of Royal College, Polonnaruwa in the below 85kgs weight class, Bevishan Wijewickrama of Trinity College, Kandy, in the below 77kgs weight class, and Sreemali Samarakoon of Habarana MMV, in the below 48kgs weight class.
These athletes are presently preparing for the mega event training under their private coaches.
Ransilu Jayathilake was the only medal winner for Sri Lanka in the history of the Youth Commonwealth Games. He won a silver medal at the year 2000 Games staged in Australia.
