Thomians take honours against Trinity

The Thomians did well to take the honours in their match against Trinity at Asgiriya. They bowled out the home team for 205 and earned a 90-run lead.

Kaveen Hiriduma was Trinity’s leading scorer with 75, while the skipper kept up his run of good scores with 38. Spinners Tharindu Ratnayake and Madushan Ravichandrakumar bagged four wickets each.

The Thomians collapsed to 118-8 in their second knock, at which point the closure was applied. The target was tempting, 208 in 32 overs – but the match petered out. Chandragupta, Weerasinghe and Arjuna Jayasinghe made runs in their contrasting styles.
