The traditional encounter between the Old Boys and Present boys of S. Thomas’ College Mount Lavinia is a much looked forward to match.
The match will be played for the Late Flt. Lt. Jason Martenstyn Trophy (Member of the 1990 unbeaten Thomian Rugby team), and the trophy will be donated by his mother Mrs. Drukie Martenstyn who will grace the occasion as Chief Guest. After the battle between the Old and Present, the Old Thomians Rugby Football Union will host the College 1st XV pool to a dinner and social at the Havelock’s sports club.
The game will take place at the newly furbished Havelock’s sports club on the 24th of February (Sunday), and the old boys are requested to be present at the ground by 3pm to collect their jerseys. The present Thomian first XV team will be led by fly half Devin Jayasinghe while the Old boys will be led by former Thomian center and wing, Gehan Dias (1987). The match will kick off at 4.30pm.
Each old boy taking part in the game will be requested to pay a fee of 2,500/- which will include dinner and the rugby jersey. Old boys who wish to participate in the social will be requested to pay 1,000/-.
