Sri Lanka’s star all-rounder Thisara Perera has been appointed as a Major in the Gajaba regiment of Sri Lanka Army.
According to Perera’s Twitter feed, he has joined Army on invitation from Army Commander Lieutenant general Shavendra Silva.

Former Sri Lanka skipper was also quoted calling this event as the biggest achievement of his life.
Perera had already played his first Match for Army SC in the semifinal of SLC invitational L/O tournament under the skipper Asela Gunaratne.
The former national cricket skipper, Dinesh Chandimal also joined the Sri Lanka Army Volunteer Force this year to play for the Army cricket team.
