Sri Lanka Cricket has refused to allow Thisara Perera to play in Australia’s Big Bash tournament which is currently underway.
A statement from the Sri Lanka cricket board said that Perera was not granted the ‘No Objection Certificate (NOC)’ by the cricket board for him to take part in the Big Bash League in Australia.
The cricket board said that the decision was taken following consultations with the National Selectors.
The cricket board said that the decision will enable Perera to spend more time with the local coaching staff and attend training sessions alongside the Sri Lanka ‘A’ team.
Sri Lanka fast bowler Lasith Malinga is currently taking part in the Big Bash League.
