The Super Eight stage of the AIA Premier League Tournament 2015/16 got underway on 11th February with all top 8 teams battling it out for the top prize in the premier domestic competition in Sri Lanka.
The most notable performance came from the bat of Ragama CC skipper, Lahiru Thirimanne as he blasted a superb 192-ball 153 against Galle CC in their game while young right-hander Hashan Dumindu pioneered Colts with a valiant century on Thursday.

Thirimanne’s superlative knock helped Ragama reach 314 for 6 at stumps at SSC grounds.
Former Josephian and Sri Lanka A team representative, Roshene Silva made 77 and was involved in a 214-run stand for the 4th wicket with his skipper. Fast-bowler Charitha Buddhika claimed three scalps at the latter part of the day.

Colts vs CCC
Former Sri Lanka U19 opener Hashan Dumindu made his second first-class century as Colts batsmen pummeled CCC at P. Sara Oval grounds.
The right-hander stroked 14 fours during his mammoth knock of 118. Apart of Hashan’s ton, three other batsmen made half-centuries as Colts ended day one on 439 for 8.

Moors vs NCC
Fast-bowler Chaminda Vidanapathirana and off-spinner Tharindu Kaushal grabbed 3 wickets apiece as NCC restricted Moors to only 228 at Colts grounds.
Left-handed middle-order batsman Kaushalya Gajasinghe top-scored for the team from Braybrooke Place with an unbeaten fighting knock of 67. All the other batsmen got good starts but failed to convert them into half-tons or centuries.

SSC vs Tamil Union
Ambidextrous spinner Tharindu Rathnayake picked up five wickets as Tamil Union were struggling at 212 for 7 on day one against SSC at Moors grounds.
SLC Super T20 tournament’s best player, Dhananjaya De Silva continued his good form cracking a solid 66 but wickets fell at regular intervals as the former Thomian, Rathnayake produced his best bowling figures in first-class cricket.
