“Honestly speaking, there is a clear difference in cricket today compared to my playing days. I know that because I am working as a bowling coach with Sunrisers Hyderabad thus, I can understand that the modern way of thinking and playing cricket is different”
“But the attitudes in cricket are the same. They haven’t changed. I also think that there is no issue with the talent you possess. We have good batters, spinners and specially all-rounders; who we haven’t had many in the past. We have plenty of options like never before in all formats. It’s high time that you become world-beaters now.”

Muralitharan also urged players to set individual targets for themselves to reach at the end of their career.
“As batsmen, you should target to score 30 to 40 hundreds or reach the 10,000 run-milestone at the end of your career. If you can set individual targets like that, at least you will be winning 50% to 60% of matches” he said.
