Trinity College Kandy played Mahinda College Galle today in an inter-school match played in Asgiriya.
The Trinitians have been in prime form with the bat with their big five scoring successfully during the season. TCK batting first made 248/7 declared with deputy Rajitha Jayatunga scoring 86 runs. He together with skipper Dinuk Wickramanayake and Ron Chandragupta stroked the ball with utmost ease and guided the Lions to safe shores.
Skipper Wickramanayake remained unbeaten on 58* while Ron Chandragupta stood tall with 52 runs to his name. Chalana de Silva was the highest wicket taker for Mahinda claiming 2 wickets.
Mahinda batting in their first innings were 83/2 at the close of play with Indira Gallage being the lone warrior on 59 runs.
